The Purpose of Our Life – Tawheed al-Uloohiyyah
1. The Purpose of Our Life
The purpose of our life is to worship Allah alone and to know Him.
The proof is the saying of Allah:
Translation: And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.
(Surah Adh-Dhariyat, 51:56)
This verse teaches us that Allah created the jinn and human beings to worship Him alone. We should not direct any act of worship to anyone other than Allah.
2. Knowing Allah and Believing in His Oneness
Allah says:
Translation: So know that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah, and ask forgiveness for your sin.
(Surah Muhammad, 47:19)
This verse teaches us that Allah alone is worthy of worship. We must believe in Him, worship Him, and obey Him.
3. What Is Tawheed al-Uloohiyyah?

Allah says:
Translation: O mankind! Worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, so that you may become righteous.
(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:21)
This verse teaches us that we must worship Allah alone because He is our Creator. He created us and all the people who came before us.
Worshipping Allah helps us develop Taqwa, which means being mindful of Allah, obeying Him, and avoiding what He has forbidden.
5. Allah Is One, with No Partner
Allah says:
Translation: And your God is One God. There is no god worthy of worship except Him, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
